In the 21st century, surf-media will have you believe that the planet’s best waves have been discovered and leaked. We’re here to tell you that it’s not the case. Take a look at our handmade flowchart, to see how we might be able to help.

Let’s break down some key phrases:

  • The days of getting waves like this without a bit of sacrifice are over. You gotta give up on either convenience or safety to score perfection. That’s our specialty.

  • Let’s be blunt here. You get what you pay for and nothing good comes cheap. We don’t cut corners, so expect to dish out some dough.

  • This will vary from trip to trip, but will likely involve giving up traditional housing, chef-cooked meals and easy transportation transfers, for at-least a few days at a time.

  • This is the final frontier in surfing - the places that remain unsurfed are the ones that are too hard to get to for the average Joe. We seek out places that have descriptions like “4x4 travel only”, “bring all supplies”, and “no medical facilities”.

The business-model:

In the early days, we only had the first line: reach out to organizations around the world, see if they can provide a roof over our heads, and then come and hold courses. These days, we’re hoping to add a few other elements to supplement our original ethos. Consultations will bring in the cash needed to go scouting new locations. Based on what we find, we'll either go back to hold courses, or if the community welcomes surf-tourism, we’ll come back with a few select clients we’ve gotten to know through our consultations. Essentially no start up cost, no hidden elements, just a simple way to make a living, go on surf-trips and give back to these gracious surf-communities.

Checkin’ around the next point …since 2012

The three best waves from my childhood were just ‘round the next point from well-known, crowded surf spots. These discoveries early-on in my surf life lead to a decade of checkin’ around the next point and finding a crew of friends who loved to do the same.

Over the years we’ve used all means necessary to score waves on our own. Spots that were deemed too sharky, too cold, too far and too heavy have been common themes in the past 10 years.
